Delicious Traditional Meals
“The food at the camp was absolutely fantastic! I enjoyed the evening dinner prepared in the traditional Bedouin style, with a selection of meats and vegetables cooked underground. Each meal was a good combination of flavors, and the homemade bread was a standout. I felt like I was truly experiencing the local cuisine.” view full review
Comfortable Tent Experience
“I stayed in an ensuite tent that provided a cozy atmosphere despite being quite basic. The bedding was comfortable enough, and the air conditioning made for a pleasant night's sleep. Even with a minor mosquito interruption, I had a great sleep in my tent, which made for an authentic overnight experience.” view full review
Adequate Facilities
“The camp featured communal bathrooms that were relatively clean and functional. While it wasn't the height of luxury, I appreciated the availability of showers and toilets. Although the water was cold, it added to the rustic charm that one would expect from a desert camp.” view full review
Evening Star Gazing
“One of the highlights of my stay was sitting around the campfire after dinner, where we enjoyed the amazing night sky. The absence of city lights allowed for very nice stargazing, creating a magical atmosphere. It was a serene way to end the day, connecting with nature and the beauty of the desert.” view full review

Staying at the camp was an incredible experience! From the warm welcome with tea to the adventurous jeep tour and camel ride, everything felt magical. The food was delicious, and I loved the cozy, clean tents that offered surprising comforts. However, it would have been great to have more drink options available throughout the stay.

My stay at Captain's Main Desert Camp was truly unforgettable. From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed warmly and treated like family. The accommodations were spacious and comfortable, making it a delight to stay in the desert. The dining was exceptional, especially the traditional Zarb dinner, though breakfast was a bit limited. Overall, this place offers a fantastic desert experience, but if you’re looking for a more secluded setting, the camp's proximity to town might not be ideal.

However, the sleeping arrangements were not very comfortable, and we faced issues with our room's amenities, like the lack of hot water and poor ventilation. Staying at the camp was an incredible experience, especially for someone coming from a busy city in Europe. The common areas were beautifully designed, creating a cozy atmosphere with ample seating around a fireplace. The staff were exceptionally kind and catered to all our needs, making our stay enjoyable. However, the tent accommodations are quite basic and could be uncomfortable for those not accustomed to minimalist living, and the hygiene in the shared facilities could definitely be improved.

My stay in the desert camp was a unique experience with gorgeous Bedouin houses and tasty food, offering plenty of options. While the sunrise desert drive was breathtaking, I encountered low water pressure in the shower, which was a bit inconvenient. I also hoped to have a campfire, but it wasn’t allowed as the smoke could affect the tents.
